Pelican Bay’s Antiques Appraisal Day & Naples Pioneers Party Helps Fund Habitat Home

On Saturday,  4/26/2008 at 10:00 a.m. we will be celebrating the dedication of the Habitat for Humanity home funded in part by residents of Pelican Bay through the Antiques Appraisal Day & Naples Pioneers Party.  The home is located at 13392 Covenant Road in the community of Trail Ridge in East Naples.  Trail Ridge is approximately one mile east of 951 on US 41.  All are welcome to join us on for this joyous occasion.

Begerl and Mirna Chery are the proud new owners of the home.  When they applied for a Habitat home they were living in a small one bedroom apartment that they shared with their five year old son Richmar and Mirna’s mother Dieula.  Dieula slept in the living room while Begerl, Mirna and Richmar shared one bed in the tiny bedroom.  Despite full time jobs as healthcare workers at Heritage Healthcare and The Carlisle respectively, Mirna and Begerl struggled to find more affordable and adequate housing.   Now they are safe and secure in their new home where they have since celebrated the arrival of a new son, Anthony.  The Chery family would love to express their thanks to you by extending an invitation for you to visit the home that your generosity helped to make possible.

Habitat for Humanity of Collier County is celebrating 30 years of building.  Since 1978, Habitat has helped more than 1,000 families move into safe, decent homes.  Still, there is a desperate need for affordable homes for low-wage earning families.  Qualifying applicants are legal residents of the United States, living and working in Collier County for more than a year and have demonstrated a need for safe, affordable shelter, an ability to repay the interest free mortgage and a willingness to partner with Habitat through the contribution of 500 hours of sweat equity.

Habitat for Humanity of Collier County is one of the oldest and largest producing Habitat affiliates in the nation. The local organization has built more than 100 homes a year for the past 6 years, making it Collier County’s leading provider of affordable, owner occupied homes.    Habitat for Humanity of Collier County is located at 11145 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, FL 34113. www.HabitatCollier.org
