What is this meeting about?
Collier County has been designing new ways to get builders interested in building apartments, condos, and homes for the working population and seniors. Habitat Collier has worked closely with county staff, landowners, developers, engineers, and consultants to make changes to the Land Development Code.
How will these changes impact housing in our community?
These changes are intended to improve the ability for builders to profitably create new affordable homes in the county. These code updates are expected to greatly improve the environment for building all types of homes and doing it without burdening the county with land giveaways, tax breaks, or reducing safety in construction.
How can you help?
There are a few ways you can make your voice heard and be an advocate for fair and affordable housing policies in our community! If you’re able to show up to the meeting in person, you can attend on the date of the meeting and sign up as a speaker. If you’re not able to attend in person, you can write a letter or send an email to our County Commission to let them know your support for these measures.
