Habitat for Humanity of Collier County celebrated Publix Supermarkets Charities with a Communitas Award for their leadership in community service and corporate social responsibility. Habitat Collier nominated the organization in honor of both their commitment to affordable housing in Collier County and their overall dedication to bettering the communities they serve through their work with numerous other charitable organizations in their service area throughout their history.
The Communitas Award is an international effort to recognize exceptional businesses, organizations, and individuals who are unselfishly giving of themselves and their resources, and those who are changing how they do business to benefit their communities.
We presented the award to Publix in our most recently completed community in Immokalee, Faith Landing, where Publix Supermarkets Charities’ most recent gifts have built six homes. In addition to the Communitas Award, Publix was also presented with a commemorative bench in Faith Landing’s playground to pay tribute to their over $1 million in donations to Habitat Collier over the lifetime of their partnership.
