State Farm Invests in Affordable Homeownership
Naples, FL (February 23, 2021) — State Farm has awarded Habitat for Humanity of Collier County a grant of $5,000 to go towards the construction of an affordable home for a Collier County family struggling with housing instability.
State Farm supports the communities they serve through Good Neighbor Citizenship company grants and the State Farm Companies Foundation. The insurance provider has made a commitment to improving and maintaining the vitality of our communities through their investment in organizations which support affordable housing, job training, neighborhood revitalization and more. As a top provider of affordable homes in Collier County, the local Habitat affiliate was chosen as the beneficiary of one of State Farm’s grants.
“State Farm is the insurance company everyone knows as a ‘good neighbor,’ and they really do work to live up to that moniker,” said Habitat Collier CEO Rev. Lisa Lefkow. “They have been wonderful supporters of our work in the community through their grant program and it just shows their commitment to giving back in the communities they serve.”
Collier County’s affordable housing shortage has been an issue for the area’s workforce for years, and Habitat for Humanity of Collier County is one of the only resources available to serve that need. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the issue, with both health and financial concerns disproportionately affecting those who were already struggling the most. More than ever before, the past year has only served to highlight the need for and benefits of safe and affordable housing.
The State Farm grant will fund the construction of a family room in a new home in the neighborhood of Vincent’s Acres, Habitat Collier’s newest subdivision in Naples.
