Naples, FL (March 5, 2020) —Publix Super Markets Charities recently awarded a grant of $45,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Collier County to help bring affordable housing opportunities to families in Collier County. The charitable arm of the regional supermarket chain has been a longtime supporter of the nonprofit organization, funding and partially funding multiple homes over the last 23 years, as well as participating in employee build days to help build homes on the job site.

This most recent gift brings the total investment of Publix Super Markets Charities to over $1.13 million over the course of their partnership with Habitat Collier.

“Publix is the go-to place for so many in our community and we love that they are committed not only to providing a great experience when it comes to feeding your family but also concerning putting a roof over their heads,” says Habitat Collier CEO, Rev. Lisa Lefkow. “Publix Super Markets Charities has gone above and beyond in showing their investment into the wellbeing of the communities they serve—this partnership is proof of that.”

In recognition of their charitable efforts, Publix Super Markets Charities was presented with a Communitas Award last fall. They were selected in recognition of their work to give back to the communities they serve through Habitat for Humanity, as well the many other nonprofit organizations with which they partner. Communitas winners are dedicated to helping the less fortunate in their communities and are changing the way they do business to benefit their employees, communities and environment.
